Differ is a place to publish small interactive pieces (memes, toys, jokes, interactive infographics) that anyone can play, share and remix.

Think of a meme you can play.

We’re not looking for games. We’d love to see what else you can think of: an interactive infographic, a meme you can mess with, a map that answers back.

We’re inviting up to 20 creative coders to make the first wave of work on Differ and help shape what it becomes.

How it works

    Share your portfolio.

    Share a link to your website or social showcasing your work.

  2. 02

    Make one thing.

    Build a miniapp on Differ and send it to us. If you'd have made it anyway, you're who we're looking for. You can also use something you've previously made.

  3. 03

    Join the group.

    We're starting with a small group of makers. We'll invite you in if it's a fit.

  4. 04

    Keep making.

    Publish under your own name, at your own pace. Post at least once a month to keep your founding spot. Beyond that, no quotas and no deadlines.

$70 a post. Real money, for fun things.
For the ones that travel.

What we pay

Think of it less as a gig and more as getting paid, credited and seen for the side projects you’d work on anyway.

You’d also be first on a new platform, and we’ll be putting real money behind growing it. The founding makers are the ones in front of people first.

Plus bonuses for anything that travels.

  • Bonuses for work that travels. On Differ: +$30 when a post passes 250 plays or 10 remixes, and +$150 at 2,500 plays or 100 remixes.
  • On X. Post your piece from your own account. You get +$25 when the post passes 5,000 views and +$100 at 50,000. Send us the link to claim it.
  • Bigger ideas. If something needs more than an hour or two, pitch it to us and we’ll agree a custom fee before you start.

We pay once a month, for everything accepted that month, bonuses included. Fees are in US dollars; we’ll pay you in your local currency at the day’s rate.

We pay for everything submitted in good faith. If a piece isn’t right for Differ, we’ll tell you specifically why. We or you can end the partnership at any time.
